Getting started

How do I purchase meals?

Online purchases can be made by adding meals to your cart, entering your delivery details and checkout using your debit or credit card.

Can I make a one-off purchase?

Yes. Simply add your favourite meals to your cart and proceed to checkout. Make sure the “No thanks” option is selected under the “Cart Subscription” heading.

Can I receive meals on a regular basis?

Yes. You can subscribe to your cart and receive your meals weekly, fortnightly or monthly.

Can I buy meals for someone else?

Yes. Simply enter their delivery details when placing your order.

Can I buy a gift card?

Yes, email us at info@eatarainbow.co.nz and we can create one for you and email it. We can bill you via invoice.

What equipment do I need at home?

Either a microwave or oven to heat your meals and a freezer to keep them frozen.

How do I update my billing or delivery address?

To update your billing or delivery address, log in to your account and edit your details.

How do I use a voucher or coupon code

Add your coupon code in the section provided in your cart or during checkout.

Meals

How do I heat my meals?

Peel the corner back and microwave for 3 – 4 minutes or until piping hot. Due to varying microwave wattages, some may require slightly more or less time to heat each meal. Alternatively, if you want to use an oven to heat your meals, place in the oven and fan bake at 150 degrees for 10-15 mins. For best results make sure you defrost your meals first. And of course let the meal cool until it is safe for your kids to enjoy.

Can I freeze my meals?

Yes. Make sure you store your meals in the freezer.  For best results defrost the meals in the fridge overnight then microwave on high for 3 -4 minutes. If you are reheating from frozen, defrost in the microwave for 4 minutes then heat on high for 3-4 mins. Never refreeze defrosted meals.

How long do the meals last?

Our meals are all sent out frozen and should be put into the freezer upon delivery. Be sure to follow the use by date on the sticker.

Where do you get your ingredients from?

We source all of the ingredients for our meals from good renown local suppliers.  We work closely with our produce supplier to ensure we provide you with the freshest.

How can I pay for my meals?

You must pay online using either credit card or debit card before we will process your order. If you are a New Plymouth customer and place your order by phone (0220431216) we will deliver your meals personally and you can pay using cash or bank deposit. If you would like to order bulk or make a special order then we can arrange alternative payment via invoice. Just contact us directly on info@eatarainbow.co.nz.

Can I order in advance?

Yes. Contact us for arrangements info@eatarainbow.co.nz.

How big are the meals?

Mini meals are approximately 120g-130g and our Large Meals are approximately 190 -300g.

How do I know my credit card details are safe.

Purchases on our website are made using a secure payment gateway called Stripe. We do not take or store any credit card details.

Delivery

What are your delivery costs?

We use flat rate delivery:

North Island = $15

South Island = $20

New Plymouth only $5

When will I receive my meals?

Orders placed before 12 noon Monday are delivered Tuesday (North and South Island via courier).

Orders placed before 12 noon Wednesday are delivered Thursday (North and South Island via courier).

New Plymouth local orders which have selected ‘local delivery’ will be delivered Wednesday afternoon after 3pm. Orders must also be placed by 12 noon that day.

Where can you deliver?

We can deliver to any non-rural address in New Zealand. Click here to check if your address is rural.

Can you deliver to a rural address?

No. We are unable to deliver to rural areas. An alternative would be to have your food delivered to a work address or a relative’s address or a Post Shop located on a non-rural run. Our Drop Off Policy applies to any address.

Is there a maximum order?

No. However we advise if you are ordering more than 20 meals you contact us at info@eatarainbow.co.nz.

What if no one is at home when the courier delivers?

Our couriers are instructed to leave your delivery box at the address given whether someone is there to receive it or not. When your order has been dispatched you will receive an email from us to let you know your delivery is on its way. Make sure you include any special delivery instructions during checkout eg “Please leave parcel around the corner on the garden side of my property”.


How are my meals packed for delivery?

Meals are sent frozen packed into a chilltainer box with ice gels for delivery.

*Note New Plymouth wide drop-off will be packed in a paper bag with NO ice packs.

Where are you based?

New Plymouth, but we deliver New Zealand wide.

Can I return my packaging?

Unfortunately for health and safety reasons, we are unable to receive and reuse returned packaging.

How do I dispose of my packaging?

The individual meal trays and cardboard delivery box can be recycled in your weekly recycling collection – check your council website. Your ice gels can be used again.

What courier do you use and what time will they deliver?

We use New Zealand Couriers. The time depends on their run, traffic, day, and where you are. We can’t tell you what time only the day. However business deliveries are typically delivered earlier in the day.

Can I pick my order up?

No but if you are based in New Plymouth we can deliver to you.

What happens if my order hasn’t turned up

If you have not received your order by 4pm on Tuesday or Thursday then you should contact New Zealand Couriers directly with your delivery details.
