Online purchases can be made by adding meals to your cart, entering your delivery details and checkout using your debit, credit card or bank transfer.

You can also call us on 06 – 7530040 and place an order over the phone

Alternatively fill out our order form and either send a photo of it to, post it to Eat a Rainbow PO Box 5042 or if you are in New Plymouth give it to your designated Eat a Rainbow delivery driver after you have made your first order.

Yes. Simply add your favourite meals to your cart and proceed to checkout. Make sure the “No thanks” option is selected under the “Cart Subscription” heading.

Yes. Either you can subscribe to your cart and receive your meals weekly, fortnightly or monthly. You can also subscribe by giving us a call and we will talk you through the process. We will need to take your credit card details. 

Yes. Simply enter their delivery details when placing your order. 

No. We will enable this function in the near future.

Either a microwave or oven to heat your meals and a fridge or freezer to keep them cool until you eat them.

To update your billing or delivery address, log in to your account and edit your details. 

Add your coupon code in the section provided in your cart or during checkout.


Peel the corner back and microwave for 3 – 4 minutes or until piping hot. Due to varying microwave wattages, some may require slightly more or less time to heat each meal. Alternatively, if you want to use an oven to heat your meals, place in the oven and fan bake at 150 degrees for 10-15 mins. For best results make sure you defrost your meals first. And of course let the meal cool until it is safe for your kids to enjoy.

Yes. If you choose to freeze your meals, make sure you place them in the freezer before the use by date. For best results defrost the meals in the fridge overnight then microwave on high for 3 -4 minutes. If you are reheating from frozen, defrost in the microwave for 4 minutes then heat on high for 3-4 mins. Never refreeze defrosted meals.

Our meals are made fresh and sealed. All meals are designed to last 5 days in the refrigerator and frozen for up to 3 months. Check the use by date on the meal. 

We source all of the ingredients for our meals from good renown local suppliers. We order the perishable ingredients after you have placed your order to ensure they are fresh before we start cooking. Our beef is sourced from Green Meadows Beef in South Taranaki, our Seafood is sourced from Egmont Seafoods also in Taranaki and our pork is from Freedom Farms New Zealand.

You must pay online using either credit card, debit card or bank transfer before we will process your order. If you are a New Plymouth customer and place your order using our physical order form we will deliver your meals personally and you can pay using cash or eftpos . If you would like to order bulk or make a special order then we can arrange alternative payment via invoice. Just contact us directly on

Mini meals are approximately 120g-130g and our Large Meals are approximately 190 -260g.

Purchases on our website are made using a secure payment gateway called Stripe and PoliPay. We do not take or store any credit card details. 



We use flat rate delivery:

North Island = $10

South Island = $15

New Plymouth only = $5

Local Pickup (Between 3-4.30pm from 8a Constance Street Waiwhakaiho, New Plymouth) = FREE

Orders for the following week must be made online before 8pm on a Sunday. North and South Island will be delivered to your door on Thursday usually in the morning. New Plymouth orders will be delivered Wednesday afternoon.

We can deliver to any non-rural address in New Zealand. Click here to check if your address is rural.

No. We are unable to deliver to rural areas. An alternative would be to have your food delivered to a work address or a relative’s address or a Post Shop located on a non-rural run. Our Drop Off Policy applies to any address.


No. However we advise if you are ordering more than 20 meals you contact us at



Our couriers are instructed to leave your delivery box at the address given whether someone is there to receive it or not. When your order has been dispatched you will receive an email from us to let you know your delivery is on its way. Make sure you include any special delivery instructions during checkout eg “Please leave parcel around the corner on the garden side of my property”.


Meals are made fresh and sealed to preserve freshness. All meals are then chilled and packed into a chilltainer box with ice gels for delivery.

*Note local pickup and New Plymouth wide drop-off will be packed in a paper bag with NO ice packs.

Unfortunately for health and safety reasons, we are unable to receive and reuse returned packaging.


The individual meal trays and cardboard delivery box can be recycled in your weekly recycling collection – check your council website. Your ice gels can be used again.


We use New Zealand Couriers. The time depends on their run, traffic, day, and where you are. We can’t tell you what time only the day.


Yes. Only Taranaki customers will be able to pick up their meals from our kitchen between 3pm and 4.30pm on Wednesday the day after we cook them.


If you have not received your order by 4pm on Thursday then you should contact New Zealand Couriers directly with your delivery details.
